A NEW CHAPTER

Hi all,

My last post was a loooong time ago but I have a good reason for it (at least that's what I think..).
I finally created a complete new website in wordpress.org.
So I am going to close this one. You can follow me on my new blog from now on: elkedesmit.com.
The website is super new so there are still some bugs in it. Hopefully the website will be all set after this weekend! I am super excited for it :)

DREAM HOUSE

While I was searching the internet yesterday I came across Kylie Jenner's house and it's so perfect! As you might know I am obsessed with black, white, silver and gold, and apparently so is Kylie. Her (ex) house is perfection. The mirrored walls, black tiles, black bathtub, the fireplace, just EVERYTHING. 

Can this be my home? NOW.PLEASE. 

FYI, it's almost weekend! What are you plans for this weekend? Danny and I are going to celebrate our 2 year anniversary (finally). It was officially the 21st but we will celebrate it this weekend, haha. But first, I have to go to the nail salon to get my nails done. Have a lovely weekend already! ♡ 

NEW IN

Like I said, I am obsessed with Polyvore lately. So I thought it was a good excuse to make a collage with my latest purchases. As you can see I really like gold. I think it looks super sophisticated and classy. Also, you can combine it with almost everything. Jeans, black, white & bright colors.

This Kate Moss picture and the "&" sign is also a poster. I am obsessed with it and you can buy it at Desenio. They sell tons of great posters. We bought our posters at Desenio for our magazine rack too. I will show you our home in another post because I am so happy with how it looks right now. It finally feels like a real home.♡

AUDREY

I've loved "Breakfast at Tiffany's" since I was eleven. It's still my favorite movie actually. Audrey Hepburn is so beautiful. Although the clothes I used for this collage aren't in the style of Audrey, the pictures go really well with the clothes haha.  I used Polyvore for this collage. I used to love Polyvore and I rediscovered it last week. Now I am addicted to it. Again..  

It's already Wednesday and I can't wait until it's weekend! Danny and I will be together for two years on Friday. But we will celebrate it next week with a dinner because he has to work this weekend .. So sad..

2 weeks ago I started working as for Fashiolista.com as content and community manager. Remember Fashiolista.com? I used to be obsessed with that website! Can't wait to share with you guys all the plans we have for this amazing community! So.. last week we had a lovely lunch at the Ron Gastrobar in Amsterdam with the fashiolista.com crew. It was so yummy! And look at the venue .. so gorgeous! We were so lucky because the sun was shining for (I think) the first time that week. As if it was meant to be haha.

While writing this post the sun is shining so bright! Last week it rained almost every day, so we decided to buy raincoats. Not something you want to buy in spring/summer but oh well.

This week has already been a lot better than last week and I really need to buy new summer essentials, for when the sun will finally (really) shine here in Amsterdam.. I am really excited to share some of my favorite Esprit pieces with you guys. 

Look at the shiny slippers! They are so cute right? Especially when you wear them under a floral dress or white pants. 

As you can see, I am obsessed with the color black (look at our interior, oh my ..). But I always need to add a little color to my outfit. Especially in summer! 

Summer is only a couple of weeks away. I can't wait to go to the beach/park and just lay there all day, doing nothing. 

For now I just have to stay inside, watch Netflix, make our own pizza (somehow it always turns out to be over baked or something haha.), cuddle with Bear and maybe take some pictures of our home. 

We redecorated our house a few days ago (we added some new furniture and decoration) and right now I am so proud of little apartment. It looks so cosy., so I don't see it as a punishment to stay inside and do nothing.

WELCOME BEER

Moments like these are so important to me. In March we bought Beer (Bear in English haha). He is a pomeranian from Russia. We had to drive almost 3 hours to pick him up and take him home with us. But .. It was all worth it! I think it was by far the best choice we've ever made to add this little munchkin to our growing family. In the first few weeks he had his ' ugly fase '. Het still had a lot of baby hair so he looked so poofy! But after a couple of weeks and a few baths he changed into a full grown pomeranian. He was born in August last year so we didn't really have him as a real puppy.  

We can't make to spend the upcoming years with him! 

SPRING FLOWERS

So much has happened the past few months (Follow me on Instagram for the latest 'news'). Where to start ...

Well, Danny and I bought a dog! A pomeranian named Beer (Bear in English haha). I have so many pictures of him so I will write a full blogpost about him another time. We are so happy with him! It was a 3-4 hour drive to see him for the first time but it was totally worth it! Even Danny is in love with him and he really doesn't like small dogs at all. 

We also bought a iMac. We always wanted one and now we have one so we're super happy with that as well.

Besides all the big purchases we also went to London and Valencia. It was the first time for Danny to visit London so we of course had to visit all the important points of interests. The Big Ben, Bond Street, London Eye, Tower of London and the Thames. The picture above was also taken in London at the Harry Winston shop in New Bond Street (I think ..). I just loved the flowers! It was so beautiful. 

Of course many other things have happened. I will try to post more regularly. I know this isn't the first time I'm saying but I have to admit, I really do miss writing and taking LOTS and LOTS of pictures. It just has been so hectic the past year.. I hope it will get a little less hectic soon though. 

THE BEGINNING

I love New Year's Resolutions! I wanted to share my resolutions for 2017 with you guys. I don't have drastic resolutions since I don't think that will work for me. I do have a couple of things I would like to change or achieve in 2017. In other words, my goals for 2017.

CLEAN OUT MY CLOSET. I really need to get rid of clothing that still has it's price tag on and stuff I never wear. My closet is filled with old stuff or stuff I have never, ever worn before. I also have MANY shoes I never wear. But .. I don't think I want to get rid of my shoes haha. 

BUY OUR OWN HOUSE. My boyfriend and I rent a beautiful apartment in the centre of Amsterdam at the moment but we really want to buy our own place. Hopefully this year but maybe in 2018. We'll see. 

GET A TATTOO. I always wanted a tattoo but I never knew for sure what I wanted. Now I think I know what I want so maybe this year ..? 

GO TO BED EARLIER. I really need more sleep. Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. I think I will be more awake when I don't snooze so much. 

WRITE MORE AND TAKE MORE PICTURES. I love taking pictures but writing is a passion of me as well. And why not do more of what I love and makes me happy? 

BE HEALTHIER. I love vegetables, fruit and everything healthy. It's just that the past year we almost didn't have time to cook a decent meal every night because of work and our move to Amsterdam. 

So I think it's time to MAKE time to eat healthier. Luckily I'm not the only one in this house who wants to eat healthier haha. Oh, and I would love to sport more. 

READ MORE. I really should read a good book. I cant even remember the last time I opened a real book instead of magazines. 

FAMILY. Although we don't live in the same city anymore, my family is still really important to me. So hopefully I can spend a lot of time with them in 2017 as well!

It's almost Christmas Eve and I already can't wait! This weekend will be a super busy but fun weekend for me and ♡. I am really excited for the Christmas market here in Amsterdam. And .. I still need to buy the perfect Christmas outfit so I wanted to share some of my favorite items. 

I love jumpsuits and dresses so I'm still not sure what I am going to wear. Time is ticking by so I really need to make a decision this weekend. I'm really not good at making decisions so wish me luck haha. The jumpsuit and the black dress are so cute! I also love the golden dress..

But not only the outfit is still a surprise, I also don't know my make up look for Christmas. I love a bold red lip but I know it doesn't look good on me at all. So maybe I should just stick with my boring everyday look. 

I think after writing and reading all this I really need to make time to buy and choose the perfect outfit. Maybe this weekend! ;)

LET'S STAY HOME

This Sunday my ♡ and I really had a lazy Sunday. We baked some 'Christmas' cookies, cleaned up our home because yesterday our new furniture came in and we watched a Christmas movie. 

Our Christmas tree really makes our home feel warm and cozy. These pictures show a lot of silver ornaments but we definitely have many black ornaments hanging in our tree as well! 

This month is going to be so busy but I don't mind because it is filled with so many fun things. ♡ and I are going to see the musical The Bodyguard, celebrate new year's and Christmas with my family, go ice skating annddd ... upcoming weekend there will be a Christmas market in Amsterdam. I can't wait. I do have to admit, I would rather stay home than doing all these things. I really don't mind staying home because I just love the way it looks/feels right now and I get to spend time with ♡. 

I don't know why but almost every time I see a deer ornament (in silver), I have to buy it. I think we have 3 deer ornaments hanging in out tree right now, next to many, many other ornaments haha. 

Now it's time to light up our table (if you follow me on Instagram/Instagram stories you may have seen this table already) and watch another Christmas movie.
